SUMMER CHILLIN’

MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS

The summer heat is settling in! Although we’re fans of pump up music, here are a mix of jazz, trance, and R&B mix suggestions that you can lounge to in the midst of tanning in your backyard!
Who doesn’t like a little bit of Indie, feel good music?

 Focus by H.E.R.

Gaining attention after Badgalriri, aka. Rihanna posted a video selfie featuring this song, this airy and ethereal R&B melody is definitely a go-to while soaking up the sun by the bay, with your BAE by your side.

All I Know by EDX

A concoction of original house tunes and uplifting chords, EDX brings his signature house melody. Entangled with horns and musical stabs, this deep house tune is flooding with uptown vocals and lively cascades. Our go-to for a small pre-gaming party with your besties. Have a listen and groove away!

Feel Like I Do by Disclosure

If dopamine was translated into music, this is what we would expect it to sound like. Bringing back legendary Al Green’s 70s vibes, Disclosure mixes their UK funk with Green’s classic smooth soul. Best served with iced americano and sunshine.

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley

Heart Don’t Stand a Chance by Andreson .Paak

Born and raised in Oxnard California, Andreson .Paak is an upcoming producer and musician, delivering some of the best R&B funk we’ve heard in a while. Nominated for both a Grammy and the BET Hip Hop Awards as ‘Best New Artist,’ his song Heart Don’t Stand a Chance delivers all of Paak, exhibiting his talent with the drums, his easeful rapping, and warm vocals. So roll down your windows, soak in the breeze and speed, and enjoy the drive, this one won’t disappoint.

Netflix & Chill by Snacky Chan

By 2017, we know that most of us have heard of KPOP or Korean Pop before. Notoriously known for their girl and boy bands, Kpop as we know, normally consists of highly produced music videos and in-sync choreography. However, there’s another side to Korean music: ballads, rap, and indie mixes. We recommend listening to this offbeat, modish melody that embodies modern groove, uncoventional beats, and a pinch of husky rap. Perfect for, as the song suggests, netflix and chilling.

Fish by Rheehab

Continuing on with the Korean music trend from above, our last summer slumber recommendation is the song Fish. Rheehab is not the most well known Korean artist, but his tunes and beat are delicious to the ears. His steady and quick beats, mixed with animative notes play off of each other. Not to mention the raspy and rhythmic free verse and buoyant vocals are a delight to indulge your ears to. With its breezy and cheerful tunes, this one can be listened to anywhere at anytime.
