Hi Tashi, thanks for joining us on the blog today. Can you tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a 24 year old lifestyle and fitness blogger and I am also the
marketing manager of a boutique fitness studio, Another_Space.

Living in London must be incredibly fast-paced. What’s your favourite part about living in the city?

There is always something new to discover. Whether it be a new restaurant that has opened up or the beautiful scenery in the Royal Parks, there is always something waiting to be found.

Where would you recommend we go on a sunny day if we wanted to read a book and chill out without the buzz of traffic and too many tourists?

Richmond Park. It’s a little bit out of the city so it’s not flooded with tourists and it’s so beautiful when the sun is shining.

I know you’re very much in wedding preparation mode. Congratulations! What’s been the most stressful part so far?

Thank you! It has to be deciding the guest list! My guest list is actually quite small- it’s my fiancés list that’s the problem! For every guest I have he has two. Of course we want to share our special day with our close friends and family but come on, who has over 200 close family and friends!?

Blogging requires a lot of hard work and persistence. What’s the best piece of advice you’d give someone when starting their own blog?

Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re not going to get 10,000 followers over night and you might not even get that in your first two years of blogging. But just keep at it, find your niche and own it. It’s ok to take a break from it too. I sometimes have a couple weeks off here and there and it helps to restart my creativity and when I get back into it the content flows so freely.

Do you think social media has become too focused on body image that people forget how to listen to themselves?

I think in some ways people feel like they have to live up to the norms that they see on social media, which really isn’t normal at all. It’s only a snippet of someone’s day. But there is now more of a sense of a community on social media than ever before and I think has really helped people to feel empowered and more inclined to listen to their bodies, instead of trying to keep up with Jones!

What’s the best experience to have come your way as a result of social media?

Having the opportunity to work with Nike is something that will stay with me for a very long time. From playing tennis with Roger Federer to doing a 10km run with over 10,000 other women. I am a huge sports fan so I love that my blog allows me to live out my passion in the most wonderful way.

You visited Bali last year, where did you stay? Was it AMAZING?

Bali is so beautiful! We stayed in Ubud which is like the jungle, has lots of rice fields and beautiful scenery. We then moved onto Seminyak which is a lot more touristy but with the clear blue seas and powder white sand, Seminyak is paradise. We then went onto Gili Trawangan which is my favourite holiday destination to date! One side of the island looks and feels like a club 18-30s holiday but the other side of the Island is everything that an island should be. Peaceful.

I think every girl these days suffers with body confidence. How do you combat those low moments?

Although it has taken some time, I have learned to love myself. Of course there are days when I wish that I looked like Adriana Lima instead of Tashi Skervin, but I’ve come to realise that isn’t going to happen so I have accepted how I look, and once you stop comparing yourself to others, life feels a lot happier. I am a big believer in self love. Love yourself first and the rest will fall into place.

What’s one handbag essential that you couldn’t live without?

CARMEX! I am addicted to it, I have about five on the go! I would rather leave my house without my purse and phone than carmex! So if you ever see me with dry and chapped lips, I am having a really bad day!

Your biggest career regret:

I don’t have any regrets but I have learned a lot of lessons. Like to be confident, never feel inferior and always voice your opinions. I have also learned that when you work hard, anything is possible and no dream is too big, but it’s never easy!

• • • •

Sunrise or sunset?
That’s a hard one. When the sunrises, the world is so peaceful but watching the sunset and paint the sky orange is something that I can watch over and over again. Sunset!
