Hi Samara, thanks for joining us on the blog today, can you briefly introduce yourself?

Hey! I’m Samara, a 21 year old vegan girl from Sydney, Australia. I’m a self confessed book worm, cannot go past an animal without attempting to cuddle them and would much rather have a picnic with friends in the sunshine than go out clubbing. I just graduated from university, and am planning on doing my honours degree next year which should be fun! I also love sports (both playing and watching), and I’m a total tomboy at heart.

We know you as @fithealthyproject on instagram, but when you’re not posting online, what do you go in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love reading books (mostly fiction, but i’m not too picky!), doing yoga, hanging out with friends. I also love creative writing, I keep a little journal that I scrawl down short stories in whenever the feeling comes over me. Bubble baths are the one thing that can salvage a bad day for me, as well as a cuddle from my puppy or kitten. I love photography, and could spend hours editing. I play sports, over the years I’ve dabbled in NRL, soccer, touch football, tennis… you name it – i’ve tried it haha!

Your photography is amazing, what camera do you use?

Aw thankyou  I generally use my iPhone 6, or my Canon 70D.

You live in Sydney, what’s your favourite part about living in the city?

Well I live in the outer suburbs of Sydney, which is about a ~40 minute drive out from the CBD? I love the fact that i’m basically equidistance from the city and the mountains and the beach, close enough for it to be a shortish trip, but far enough that my house is tucked on a cozy, quiet street you know? Being able to escape up to the mountains or out to the beach in no time at all is an amazing opportunity that I’m grateful for! (also, close proximity to good food spots ya feel?)

If we were to visit, where would you recommend that we go?

As in for lunch in Sydney? I am totally head over heels for Golden Lotus Vietnamese restaurant – it’s a fully vegan place, and has some of the most incredibly flavourful foods I’ve ever had (vegan or not!).

Does posting on instagram ever become a chore?

It doesn’t, which is great. I love using it as a creative outlet, and even if it does, I just take a step back and don’t put any pressure on myself to post according to an itinerary or anything!

What is your dream career?

Oh god, I don’t even know. And I should know. I mean, I just graduated haven’t I?! Ugh… I just know that I love learning how/why people act the way they do, and through my degree, I’ve learnt to channel that interest into creating tangible forms of communication. So the short answer is, I have zero clue. I just want to be happy, and love what I do – that’s all!

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learnt from higher education?

Time management, oh my god. and organisation skills. and that even when you think you can’t accomplish something, you can, you just need to put your mind to it.
