We love your instagram account, what was the reason for staring your account?

(No, I love your instagram account haha) Well, I’m a nutritionist and I really love nutritional education. I consider education a very powerful weapon. I started to notice that nutrition and fitness was something everyone wanted to talk about, and not exactly with the proper formation or studies to do so. In addition to that, food and nutrition myths are more common than ever. Those things made me worry and think that people needed to know the truth and stop worrying about things like fad diets, eating fruit after the afternoon, or be afraid of certain groups of foods.

When you’re not behind the camera, what do you get up to in your spare time?

Like I mentioned before,  I’m a nutritionist. I love to help people achieve their goals and become their healthier selves. I do online and face to face nutritional assessment, and also work at a pharmacy and at a clinic, with clients and patients. Some of them want to lose weight, others want to gain it, and other just want to be healthier. I love working with them, in a personalized way, to help them change habits in a sustainable and non-suffering way.

Your boyfriend is also a blogger, how did you meet?

We met in highschool. We were dating but then we had to go study in different countries. We met again 2 years ago and we’ve been together since. Actually, my account started in kind of a competition I had with him haha.

Coffee or tea?

Coffee for sure haha. No doubt (My hubby is a barista, so I have been tasting better coffee since then)

If you could move to anywhere in the world, what where would you go?

I would love to live in the US, but Australia seems like a cool place to be too. I like that you can find lots of veggie friendly products there, and there are many veggie restaurants too haha.

Social media is renowned for comparison, what advice would you give to someone who is lacking in confidence?

I would say you are unique and one of a kind. Genetics, lifestyle, and other choices people make, are way different from yours. You have no idea what is behind social media, we always try to show our pretty side, despite the problems we have. So comparison is not an option, it would surprise you how many people suffer from an eating disorder, or simply don’t enjoy life as much as they pretend. Fin your own path, listen to your body and trust yourself.

You’ve done a series of food pics where you’ve created letters, tell us a little about that.’

I love those series. I wanted to do like a food abecedarium, so I would take every letter and talk about a food that starts with each letter. Some of them tend to confuse people so I wanted to talk about them, and others are simply my favorite foods haha.

How do you achieve balance?

I firmly believe in moderation. I love eating healthy and how it feels, but also like sweets and pizza. Most of the time I concentrate on eating vegetables, protein, healthy fats and complex carbs, but if my body wants chocolate, I eat a square or two, and keep going with my life and meal plan.

What do you think about ‘cheat meals’?

I don’t exactly love them haha. They might work with some people, but if you can’t stop thinking about the pizza you are having on Friday, it has become an obsession. If for example you have a lunch date on Wednesday or a birthday party on Tuesday, will you stop going because of the cheat meal? That makes no sense. Enjoy those dates, and keep eating healthy the rest of the week. You will no longer crave those foods as much as you did when you were dreaming of them because of the cheat meal, and start finding balance.
